When you eat bread you expect it to taste in a certain way. If it does not, you qualify it as bad. The key to switching from white to brown is to make your taste buds expect the brown rice, whole wheat taste.

Include brown rice in healthy diet plan. In the beginning, you cannot like the taste of brown rice. Spice up the brown rice so that you can enjoy it. Cook the brown rice in low sodium broth of your choice.
You can also make your own broth which lowers the sodium content further by boiling all the tag ends of a chicken carcass in 6 to 8 cups of water.
Add small amount of a strong tasting cheese to the rice after it is done cooking. If you cook your rice in broth and use the cheese, it will taste good.
You can add flavorful vegetables in your healthy diet plan. Chop 1 cup of favorite vegetables into small pieces. Fry them in a little olive oil, garlic, and 1 tbsp. of the Mrs. Dash no-salt blend of your choice. When the rice is done, either stir the vegetables in or serve on top.
Whole wheat in healthy diet plan:
Have your own bread machine for making healthy diet plan. Make the transition to whole wheat bread by adding in more whole wheat flour to your mix.
If your recipe uses two cups of white flour, make that 1 ¾ cups of white flour and ¼ cup of whole wheat flour. After you have accustomed to that, make your bread with 1 ½ cups of white flour and ½ cup of whole wheat flour.
Keep increasing the whole wheat flour until you use whole wheat flour 1 cup. Once you can eat this, you can go for 100% whole wheat.
Special directions are needed for making 100% whole wheat bread because the methods are different. Use whole wheat pastry flour when making bread so the bread will rise like it is supposed to.
You can use same method for changing your pancake, muffin, and pie crust recipes into whole wheat versions which can be included in healthy diet plan. Now you will be eating majority of grains from whole wheat in no time. Now you will actually like the taste. Be patient. You will enjoy the new healthy diet plan with in no time.
