When I was 16, I did long distance running. I was very thin, 29" waist, 36 inch chest, 5` 8" tall. I was reasonably successful, though I did not pursue it seriously. I also played football (soccer) to a decent level. When I was 19, I suffered a really bad injury to my upper body while playing football. It took me a year to get fit enough to return to work, and during that time, it was stressed to me that I may need further operations as I grew older. I decided to buy some weights and started using them to build up my upper body strength in the hope that: by strengthening my shoulders and arms, I would be able to protect the previously injured area, thus lessening the likelyhood of needing further operations. I worked hard on weights, and went on to represent my country at a sport, in which I became a World Champion. At that time,I was 5 foot 8 inches tall, I weighed 10 stones, I had a 30 inch waist, 40 inch chest and 27 inch thighs. This was in the early nineties. I retired from that sport and went back to football, where I became a referee. I now weigh between 11.5 and 12 stones, have a 42 inch chest, 32 inch waist, 29 inch thighs, 19 inch neck, 18 inch biceps and feel as healthy as I have ever done. I use my dumbells 4 times a week. They are heavy, but I limit the repetitions, as I want to maintain the strength I have. To counterbalance the heavy weight training I do, I run 3 or 4 times a week, for a distance of on average 5 miles a time. This gives me the cardio workout I need to maintain overall health. I do not think I was naturally mesomorphic in stature, I do think that I fit that description now, but only because I conditioned myself.

Aye, you, Bob. All of these people may not have what they need to get to the doctor and spend all of that money and time to get what they need, so they are doing their personal research. Besides, what kind of food do you eat? And does it matter? I'd say..go eat what an ectomorph is DESTINED to eat while you are an endomorph, and see how sick you get after awhile. Then go cry to God about it, because you wasted your time calling people names because you think life is easy. You can't just get buffed out because you want to. You must have the information necessary to complete a journey. I eat about $100+ food every week, all by myself because I am a mesomorph. It is better to ask than to make mistakes, and if you ask, and then you know, it's all on you. Get a job you like, go to church and work off your calories.

You all are idiots. Who cares what type of body you think you are? Do what works for you to lose weight or gain muscle.

I was trying to figure out which catigory I'm in. I know I'm DEFFANITLY a pear shape, and finally I came across an article that says, most pear shapes are 'mesomorphs' , This catigory sounds like me more than the others. Thought pears are generally unporpotunate!..lol I have broad shoulders, (like a linebacker) and my collerbone is well defined. My stomach seems to gets nice and flat even if its a 10 minute cardio workout. I get muscle definition in my arms pretty easily. My hips are aTEENSY bit wider then my shoulders thought, but not alot. Anyhoo...i used to be a sedetary 150 pound pear about 3 yrs ago..Now I'm a nice small pear..hehe..

25 yr old female
Hieght: 5'1
Wieght: 111
Bust 31
Waist 25
Hips 36

Neck 12 inches
forarms 10 inches
shoe size ussually a 6-7

Generally I thought I was a 'medium framed' atleast from all my measurments of my wrist and the elbow measurments BOTH said my frame was meduim. But I read I read somewhere, ussually someone of my hieght are 'small framed, I feel I should be 105 pounds, and at 116-120 I felt like I needed to go down more..

Hello, I'm not sure if I'm mesomorph but it seems likely. I am 5'1, weigh usually in between 116-123lbs. I would either be considered medium or large framed. My shoulders are larger than my waist. I have a fairly flat 2 pack with big thighs. I don't see how this factors in but I have small hands and my shoe size is 6 1/2. I lose weight very easily.

Hi, i would consider myself to be an ecto-mesomorph. I'm 17, 5'11'' nd 163 lbs. Im tall nd lanky, but i also have wide shoulders nd a big chest. My wrist, elbows,nd ankles are small. I can lose or gain weight extremely easily. For example i can go from 158-168 in one day nd on da second day im back to 158. Ima purty good marathoner for my age (3:12:51). But i can gain muscle mass nd lose fat easily. But if i run too much i lose all my muscle but i can gain it back in about a week.

Hey I hope I'm mesomorphic I was 185 lbs when I was 13 yrs old, I've played basketball, football and rugby and now that I'm 20 yrs old I've grown to 5'10 being 220 lbs. I used to wieght train but since last year I'm now using resistance training to build a leaner muscle mass and I run every 2nd day. Oddly enought I've been doing this while watching what I eat for like 4 months and I'm still floating in the same wieght of 220 and legs are a husky 27". If you were to compare me to someone oddly enough I would have the same build as the great "iron" mike tyson, yet I'm trying to get rail skinny, is there any hope for me?

i also think i'm a mesomorph. i'm 18, female, 5'4", larger feet for my size, broad shoulders. i'm very average build-130 lbs, but naturally more muscular than other girls my size. i am also quite hour-glass shaped. i've never really tried hard to lose or gain weight, but when i do exercise i feel that i see improvements very quickly. are there any other tips to determine if you are a mesomorph or not?
